ASF is a charity dedicated to urban youth.
Our mission is to fund pilot training for youth
in Illinois and Indiana's poorest
communities. We connect with young people
who dream of flying and offer a program of
weekend flight training. Scholarship
recipients train in single-engine airplanes or
gliders. The program lasts 2 years. From the
first solo flight, to being certified by the FAA,
we believe general aviation offers an
unparalleled outlet for urban youth.
Robbins, Illinois.
We are especially committed to students
from south suburban Robbins where black
aviation was prominent in the 1930's. We
pledge to help any student from Robbins
who wants to fly.
Student support network
Flight students accepted into our
program receive support from
ground instructors, flight
instructors, board members,
aviation mentors, and former
students who are now pilots.
